Well, I really enjoyed the play today... except for the talkative people sitting behind me! The play really helped me to understand the monster a lot better. I even could personally relate to him. Isn't that strange... Relating to a killer? But, the creation only wanted to be loved... As do all of us. One point that I really saw in the play that left an impression on me, was that of greediness. Frankenstein was greedy, he wanted all the knowledge. He wanted to be like God in the sense of being able to create life. He felt as though he was doing good. After creating life however, he realized it was a mistake to create such a "monster". What Frankie didn't know was that the monster only wanted to be cared for and loved. Frankenstein ended up hurting, indirectly killing by means of the creature, the only people he truly loved. While watching the plot unfold, I felt really bad for the monster and, also, Dr. Frankenstein. This is a lesson for us in order to show that sometimes when we put ourselves first it can hurt others... My question for you tonight is: Did you enjoy the play? Why? Was there a specific point or scene that caught your eye and made an impression?

I personally really enjoyed the play and watching how everything came to life. I thought the barter did a fabulous job translateing the book onto the stage. My Favorite scene was probably when the monster threw "William" off the stage making it look like he threw him off a cliff. It was just so unexpected and made the entire audience jump when he was thrown.
ReplyDeleteAmazing blog Hannah. I really enjoy your point of view on the novel.
